falkirk have a good laugh at Accies £100,000 Arfield bid...

There are some things in life that never fail to raise a smile. A baby gurgling. Someone walking into a lamppost by mistake. Re runs of Steptoe and Son. Now add to that list Hamilton Accies bidding £100,000 for Scott Arfield.

Who do they think they are kidding?! They sold James McCarty to Wigan for an initial £1.2 million, rising to £3 million depending on appearances. They'll be looking for about £750,000 from rangers for James McArthur, so why are they bidding £100,000 for Arfield?

The Scotland under 21 cap has a big future ahead of him in the game and it's unlikely Hamilton could provide the platform for him to display his talents on. In all fairness, the Bairns have laughed off the bid while Arfield himself has committed his future to Falkirk. It was probably an attempt by Accies to increase their profile a wee bit after signing Marvin Andrews and his wonky knee from Raith Rovers, but maybe they should take their comedy act and head along to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival just now.

Or why don't they increase their bid to £500,000 and throw in McArthur - then we'll talk!
