Important Car Park Arrangements

Last updated : 16 June 2005 By The Bairn
This is an Official Statement from Falkirk FC concerning the Car Park Arrangements for The Falkirk Stadium for Season 2005/06.

CAR PARK PERMITS

All parking at The Falkirk Stadium next season will be restricted to permit holders only.

Parking at the stadium has been a problem area on a match day and it is hoped that by introducing new measures we can make your journey to the match less stressful.

Car park permits for the grey car park adjacent to the West Stand are available to purchase at a cost of £50 for the season.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND £50 FEE NOW. ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED WILL £50 FEE BE PAYABLE

The car park has a capacity of 300 vehicles and we are now asking for applications. If you wish to apply for a permit, please write to the club giving the following details:

Name
Address
Phone Number
E-mail Address
Make and Model of vehicle
Colour
Reg Number

We will accept applications up to 5pm on Friday 1st July. Please note that we can only accept postal applications.

In the event of us receiving more than 300 applications a random draw will be held. The successful applicants will be notified by post.

We are aware of the large number of supporters who travel to the match by car and who will be unable to get a car park permit. We will have a number of measures in place to address this problem.

1. Car Sharing

The club encourages all supporters to consider sharing the ride with fellow supporters from their own area. We would hope that all successful applicants who receive a permit would car share. As well as reducing the number of cars it would also reduce the cost of the permit. For example if you were to travel regularly the cost would reduce to £12.50.

The club have joined a national car share scheme and details of how to join can be found on our website.

2. Overflow Car Parking

Extensive signage will direct all home fans to the car parks at Falkirk College. These car parks have a capacity of 500 spaces and are a short walk from the stadium. We would ask all supporters to respect the neighbouring residential areas and avoid parking in areas that could cause distraction or inconvenience.

3. Public Transport

The stadium is very well served by public transports as it sits in the main Falkirk/Grangemouth/Bo’ness bus route. Numerous buses leave Falkirk town centre to pass the stadium. Timetables are available from Falkirk bus station and will be printed on our website and the website of First bus.

4. Service 99

This is a special service to provide a transport link to the stadium from the Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Carron, Carronshore and Bainsford areas. The bus departs Larbert Cross at 2pm and arrives at the stadium at 2.30pm. At the end of the match the bus leaves from the ticket office at 5pm.

We are currently in discussions with First with a view to implementing further special stadium services. Please watch our website and the Falkirk Herald for details.

5. Coach Transfer

It has been noticed that some supporters have organised mini-coach transfers to the stadium and a collection service after the match. We applaud this initiative as it clearly reduces the number of vehicles required to make the journey. In order for us to manage the arrival and departure of the coach we would be obliged if a representative of the group could contact us with the following details:

Name of person responsible
Number in group
Phone Number
Arrival Time
E-mail
Coach Company

Please note that this facility is only available to coaches with 12 or more seats.
