Thomson made over 100 appearances for Crystal Palace and then played for Peterborough United since September 2003.
He has put pen to paper on a two year deal for the Bairns and Falkirk assistant manager Brian Rice is delighted, saying: "He is a good footballer with a good engine. He is just the type of player we are looking for."
