Aberdeen v Falkirk

By BBC Sport
Tuesday, 2nd February 2010
Aberdeen v Falkirk.

Mark McGhee welcomes new loan signings Steven MacLean and Jim Paterson, from Plymouth Argyle, into his Aberdeen squad for the match against Falkirk. But he will be without strikers Lee Miller and Chris Maguire, who left on Monday for Middlesbrough and Kilmarnock respectively, and Sone Aluko.

For Falkirk, hoping to move off the bottom of the table, Tam Scobbie is close to a return from pelvic trouble.

And Pedro Pele remains on the sidelines following Achilles surgery.

Aberdeen: (from) Langfield, Young, Ifil, Grassi, Mulgrew, Foster, Fyvie, Kerr, McDonald, Marshall, Mackie, Diamond, Duff, Paton, Jack, Nelson, Pawlett, MacLean, Paterson.

Falkirk: (from) Olejnik, McNamara, Barr, McLean, Twaddle, Healy, Lima, Flynn, Compton, Arfield, Moutinho, Showunmi, Finnigan, Duffy, Stewart, O'Brien, Bullen, Andrews.

Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee: "We will have to play a lot better than we did on Saturday or we will lose to Falkirk.

"If we play the way we did on Wednesday then we will win, by a few goals I would imagine.

"When you look at your team and how it performs and they win and they lose, there have been days when we've been critical of the strikers or the creative side if you like."

Falkirk manager Eddie May: "Pele will be out for a long time. It's a big hole in our defence.

"We are down a few players and we just have to regroup and get on with it."
