McCabe on the spot for Dunfermline as Falkirk pay penalty
Rhys McCabe's second-half penalty earned Dunfermline a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Falkirk.
Myles Hippolyte put the promotion-chasing visitors ahead in the 10th minute with the first meaningful attack of the game, finishing from close range following Tony Gallacher's superb ball into the area.
Dunfermline almost equalised midway through the half, but Andy Geggan's header came back off the bar and Michael Moffat's follow-up was excellently stopped by Falkirk goalkeeper Danny Rogers.
Nicky Clark headed wide just after the interval as Dunfermline pushed hard for an equaliser and they were rewarded just before the hour mark when McCabe slotted home from the spot after Aaron Muirhead had handled in the area.
John Baird headed wide for Falkirk, who were searching for their first win in three, and both sides had half chances in the closing stages before settling for a point each, which was enough to lift Dunfermline up two places to seventh in the Scottish Championship.
