McIntyre returns to Falkirk board

Former chairman Douglas McIntyre has rejoined the Falkirk board, with Douglas Paterson and Roger Crosthwaite stepping down.McIntyre was part of the consortium that rescued the club from liquidation in 1998 and was chairman from June of that year until May 1999.

He left the post for health reasons but stayed on as a director until 2001.

McIntyre has remained a major shareholder as well as doing work behind the scenes at the club.

Paterson joined the board in 2002 to assist in the financial and business management of the club, while Crosthwaite became a director in 2004 to assist in the development of the Bairns' sales and marketing strategy.

The club said in a statement: "The board would like to thank Douglas and Roger for all their contributions to the club during one of the club's most successful periods."
