Two games in four days for Falkirk saw them take on Partick Thistle in this important revised league fixture.

In the end three goals separated the two in a one-sided match at Brockville Park.

The home side always looked the most likely in this encounter with only one chance falling to Thistle just after half time which Leigh Hinds wasted.

The first chance fell to Darryl Duffy who picked the ball up in his own half and between him and Russell Latapy, they worked a clever one-two and the resultant right-foot shot went just wide.

In the 18th minute, Daniel McBreen's acrobatic overhead kick was disallowed much to the dismay of the home side.

Later, in the 25th minute, defender Craig McPherson pulled a hamstring and Falkirk has to reshuffle their pack.

Just before the half time whistle, John O'Neil came close with a 25-yard volley which produced a magnificent save from goalkeeper Kenny Arthur.

The deadlock was broken in the 53rd minute when Latapy played a through ball to Duffy who found Pedro Moutinho only for his shot hit the post.

The rebound fell to Duffy and he blasted in from close range for his 18th goal of the season.

Twenty minutes later, Falkirk made it number two when Moutinho picked up a ball on the wing, worked his way into the box and squared a pass to McBreen who shot low past the keeper.

Three minutes from the end, Falkirk put the icing on the cake when substitute David Nicholls passed the ball to Moutinho.

He cleverly controlled and with a reverse pass found McBreen again who scored his second of the evening and his fifth goal of the season with only three games under his belt.
