Andreu keeps Accies on track

Anthony Andreu's second goal in three matches set Scottish Championship leaders Hamilton on their way to a 2-0 home victory over Falkirk.

Andreu struck after 21 minutes as Accies remained unbeaten at New Douglas Park in the league this season, with a late second goal from substitute Louis Longridge inflicting a third straight away loss on the Bairns.

Michael Devlin went close for the hosts with a early header and goalkeeper Michael McGovern denied Alister Crawford.

Andreu latched on to Mickael Antoine-Curier's pass from inside his own half before firing a low, right-foot shot past McGovern to open the scoring.

Falkirk responded as half-time approached with Kevin Cuthbert saving from Rory Loy and then Craig Sibbald.

Andreu missed a chance to extend Hamilton's lead while Conor McGrandles shot wide as the visitors chased an equaliser.

But Longridge sealed victory in the 89th minute with a 18-yard shot after Falkirk failed to clear Crawford's free-kick.
