Taylor's rocket downs Morton

Falkirk earned their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory away at Morton.

Jay Fulton opened the scoring in the ninth minute in fortunate circumstances. His cross from the left wing missed everyone and found its way into the bottom corner of Derek Gaston's goal.

Blair Alston was denied scoring his side's second as Gaston parried his drive from the right-hand side of the penalty area.

Morton levelled through Archie Campbell's curled finish just after the half hour mark after a good ball from Stephen Stirling.

But Falkirk regained the lead just eight minutes later. Lyle Taylor found the back of the net from 30 yards, drilling his right-footed effort into the top corner for his second goal of the season.
