Falkirk V Cowdenbeath at Falkirk Stadium - Match Preview

Smith to take charge of Bairns

Falkirk will be under the control of interim manager Alex Smith against visitors Cowdenbeath as newly appointed manager Gary Holt does not start work until Monday.

Holt will be in attendance as the Bairns tackle the Blue Brazil.

"This game marks the start of a huge week for us," Technical Director Smith said. "We have the chance to win for a fourth game in a row, have a new manager watching the game before he starts work and then face Hibs in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup next Saturday.

"There is a sense of excitement in the air and we want to build on that by defeating Cowdenbeath although we know it will be tricky. They beat us 4-1 at their place so it will be tough."

Cowdenbeath will be without player/manager Colin Cameron (hamstring) as they look to avoid getting isolated in the second-bottom slot with three points.

The Blue Brazil have doubts over Lewis Milne and Kyle Miller who have been ill this week, Kenny Adamson who has a back injury and Dean Brett who has not trained this week due to an ankle injury.

Pablo Navas (hip) and Liam Cusack (knee) are definitely out.

"Gary will be out to impress in his first game but the last time we played Falkirk it was a great day for us as we won 4-1," Cameron said.

"I would settle for a 1-0 success this time out."
