Falkirk V Morton at Falkirk Stadium - Match Preview

Flynn missing for Bairns

Falkirk entertain Morton in the first Championship game to be played on their newly-laid artificial pitch with the Bairns only missing Jonny Flynn.

The defender remains out with an ankle injury as Gary Holt's young side look to build on a battling draw at Dumbarton.

Technical director Alex Smith said: "The pitch looks fantastic and will allow both sides to play a good passing game.

"Morton won against Cowdenbeath last weekend and that will be great for their confidence but hopefully we can do enough to get the win we are after.

"We will have to dig deep but the players are prepared to do that."

Morton, who sit at the summit after the first round of fixtures, travel with a doubt over summer signin, Kabba-Modou Cham, who is struggling with a hip injury.

David O'Brien returns after a thigh strain and Slovakian defender Tomas Peciar is also available, with Cappielow manager Allan Moore keen for his side to build momentum.

Moore said: "There was a lot of positivity about the club this week after our win over Cowdenbeath and we want to build on that with a win at Falkirk.

"They are a much changed side and are always strong at home but another win would have confidence flowing through us."
